Creating Your Marketing Plan.jpg

If you want to sell more yearbooks (and why wouldn't you?), you need a plan. A good one helps you stay organized, hit your goals, and keep the whole team on track. Here’s how to build a marketing plan that actually works:

KNOW YOUR GOALS

We talked about setting your Sales Goals in Chapter 4. Without goals, you'll have no baseline for how your marketing plan is working!

MAP OUT YOUR TIMELINE

Break the year into phases so you know what to focus on and when:

  • Back to School: btw, this is one of the BEST times to get students excited about buying a yearbook.
  • Fall: keep the momentum going with social media and posters.
  • Winter: push ad sales and remind students to order.
  • Spring: final call for orders!

CHOOSE YOUR PROMO TOOLS

Use everything you've got to spread the word:

  • Friesens SellIt! tools: posters, banners, lawn signs, Direct-To-Parent emails
  • Social Media: post sneak peeks, countdowns, and shoutouts (see Chapter 7 for more)
  • Announcements: use the school announcements to remind students
  • Street Team: get students to help promote around the school

KEEP TALKING

Make sure students, staff, and parents know what's going on:

  • Share updates on deadlines and pricing.
  • Remind people where and how to order.
  • Highlight cool features like accessories or custom pages.
