Selling your school’s yearbook takes more than just cool cover art...it needs a solid plan and a smart budget. Figuring out how much to spend on posters, promos, and online tools can help you reach your sales goals without blowing your budget. A little planning goes a long way, and knowing where your money’s going makes it easier to get the word out and boost orders.
Keep in mind in the following:
- Printing Costs: This includes the actual cost of the yearbook, plus any taxes and shipping fees. Make sure your selling price covers this so you’re not stuck with a bill.
- Marketing Materials: Think posters, banners, lawn signs, stickers...anything that helps get the word out. You don’t need to go overboard, but a few eye-catching pieces can make a big difference. Friesens has a lot of options that are low (or no) cost to you! Talk to your Print Consultant.
- Extras or Incentives: Want to run a contest or offer early bird prizes? Set aside a bit of money for fun stuff like gift cards or school swag. You should also consider yearbook team or street team swag, like t-shirts and buttons.
- Keep It Simple: Write down what you want to do, estimate the cost, and make sure your sales goal covers it. If you sell more than expected, you can always put the extra funds back into next year’s book or use it for something cool like a launch party.
