Before you start the promotion of your yearbook, it's a good idea to figure out what your goals are. That way you'll know what you're aiming for and can track how things are going. Your Print Consultant and/or Project Specialist can help!
LOOK AT LAST YEAR
Start with a bit of research. Grab the info from last year's yearbook campaign and ask yourself:
- How many students were enrolled?
- How many books were sold?
- What percentage of students bought a yearbook? Divide the number of books sold by the total number of students to get this.
- How many ads were sold and how much money did they bring in (if applicable)? Include business ads, recognition ads, team or club ads, sponsorships, and patron packages.
SET THIS YEAR'S GOALS
Now that you've got last year's numbers, it's time to set your goals for this year.
- What's the total student enrollment this year?
- What percentage of students do you want to buy a book this year?
- How many books do you want to sell? Multiply your target percentage by the total number of students.
- Do you have ad sales goals? If you're selling ads, set a target for how many you want to sell and how much money you want to raise.
