Selling your school's yearbook isn't just about putting up posters and hoping for the best. There's a whole world of strategies and tactics that you can use, but before we dive into those, here's a quick guide to terms you'll want to know:

BUDGET

This is the money that you've got to work with for everything from printing the yearbook to promoting it. Knowing your budget can help you plan smart and avoid surprises.

BUNDLING

Selling the yearbook with extras like autograph pages or personalization as a package deal. It can make the offer more appealing!

CALL TO ACTION (CTA)

A CTA is what you want people to do. "Buy your yearbook now!" or "Order before the deadline!" It should be short, clear, ad easy to follow.

CONVERSION RATE

This is the percentage of people who actually buy a yearbook after seeing your promo. It helps you figure out what’s working.

DIRECT MAIL

This is old-school but still effective! These are physical postcards or flyers that are sent to students' homes. They're a great way to remind families to order a yearbook.

DIRECT-TO-PARENT EMAILS

New for 2025! These emails are created by Friesens on your behalf and go straight to the parents' inboxes…no fuss, no muss! They're super handy for getting the message out fast and clearly.

EARLY BIRD PRICING

A discount for people who order early. It’s a great way to boost sales at the beginning of your campaign.

ORDER FORM

A paper or digital form people fill out to buy a yearbook. Make sure it’s easy to find and fill out.

SALES GOAL

How many books you want to sell. Setting a goal gives your team something to aim for, and celebrate when you hit it!

SALES REPORTS

These show how many books you've sold, who's bought one, and how close you are to your goal! Super useful for tracking progress and planning your next move.

SellIt! is Friesens' toolkit made just for schools. It's packed with stuff to help you promote your yearbook, like posters, banners, and more.

These are paid spots in the yearbook which can help cover costs and make your book more community-focused. They can come from:

  • Businesses (local shops showing support)
